Tomorrow school starts... school starts tomorrow...today is the last day of summer. I'm trying to help my brain out but it still is not kicking in. I just got back from senior trip at Sky Ranch. It was such a good experience. I had extremely low expectations knowing very little of the trip but expecting to be forced into other friend groups and drilled about leadership. It was not like this at all. They wanted us to expand our friendships but did not force it. The talks were about listening to the Lord's plan for our life this next year which if we are doing, will help us be a good leader in the end. Being able to hang out with people outside of school is something really cool and I had tons of fun.




Since school is tomorrow and I have time to blog I thought I would whip out this easy DIY for you all. I'm totally obsessed with these leather tassels that are everywhere. I almost bought one on Etsy for around $10 but then decided not to. I'm so glad I didn't because I made this one for free.


STEP 1: cut a piece of leather as long as you want the tassel to be
STEP 2: measure according to the length of the tassel how long you want the fringe to be.
STEP 3: draw a line in pencil on the wrong side of the leather where you are going to cut the fringe up to
STEP 4: cut as much fringe as you want (for this 3 inch tassel I cut 2 inches of fringe.) (The longer the tassel the more fringe you need)
STEP 5: cut the last fringe off from the rest of your leather
STEP 6: (not photographed) cut a small strip of leather around the same size of a tassel for the top of the tassel so you can loop it on to other items
STEP 7: hot glue down your loop to the top of your tassel
STEP 8: tightly roll your tassel together as your use a small amount of glue only on the top
STEP 9:(optional) you can add pieces of fabric around top of tassel for decoration.
STEP 10: attach a metal ring to the loop and attach to key chain, backpack....

The sophomore girls at my school are all really close so we decided at bible study one day that we wanted to make some "Sophomore Girl" t-shirts. I decided to make some and I wanted to show you guys how you can make your own t-shirts as well. It was a super easy process and only took a few hours to make the design.

The first thing you want to decide is where you want to design your shirts from. There are a lot of online places that you can order costume t-shirts. I would suggest "Custom Ink" they are really helpful and super easy. You can create any design you want and it's completely customisable, they also have tons of different kinds of shirts.

                         

So, I just wanted to show you our little journey for how we got the final design for our shirts. This is what our original inspiration for the shirts. We wanted a soft colored shirts, and we also knew that we wanted it to be long sleeved. We didn't know if we wanted a pocket or just something where the pocket would go, but the pocket shirts didn't have the colors we wanted.

                                     

This is what we started with. I would make a design and then take a picture of it and send it to a group message and ask them what they thought. We knew we wanted a verse on the back and we wanted the year we graduate and "Lady Knights" somewhere on the shirt. 

                    

Then someone drew out a picture of a shirt we could do. It turned out really good, and I wish that I could draw like this! But then some people didn't like the bow, and they wanted the verse written out. It was back to the drawing board for me.

                                      

Then I did a new thing on the front. I did a little circle with a cross, "Lady Knights", and the year we will graduate. Also on the back, I came up with this design with a circle. As you can probably see from the picture it was starting to come together.

                     

Then the girl sent this picture to the group, and we really liked this design. It had the verse around the circle, the reference in the middle with a little banner and the year we graduate in the middle in big letters. It looks a lot like the design I made on the computer as well.

                    

So then someone sent this picture of a monogram to the group. So then it hit us that we had to have a monogram of our school on the front! That's when the shirt really came together and we started getting the final design. We had to go all the way prep with these haha.



And so this was the final design! We loved this baby blue color with some pops of pink. We love the verse we chose, Proverbs 31:30. And we have the year we graduate and Lady knights on it. We got these shirts approved so that at school we could wear them on spirit wear day. Spirit wear means that we can wear jeans and a Trinity t-shirt.



Here is a picture of some of the sophomore girls that wore the shirts to school. Some of the girls couldn't make the picture, weren't there at school that day or hadn't picked up their shirts yet. I love that we have these shirts and I feel like it kind of bonded us as a class. If you want to make a shirt that I would highly recommend using Custom Ink and Group me for a group chat and ask everyone what they think.

Picture day is coming up at my school; actually, it's in two days. And all of my friends and I have no idea what to wear! Normally when I don't know what to wear, so I go to Pinterest or Instagram for inspiration. Today I'm going to try to help you with your head-to-toe look!

Hair
When it comes to hair I would say don't do any pony tails. If they are at the wrong level then you will look like you have no hair or like a boy. If you can, I would say wear your natural. You don't want to chance that if you use heat on your hair that it might go wrong. I would say wear your hair down with the bangs or top pulled back so you can clearly see your face. If you decide you don't want to pull your hair back that's totally fine.





Makeup
Keep it light. You don't want to be know as that girl in the year book with a makeup line! Make sure that you wear a primer to make your makeup last, and make sure you wear a powdered foundation to cut down shine. You should go for a neutral lipsticks: stay away from lip gloss cause it might act weird with the cameras. As far as blemishe and acne go, don't worry too much about covering them, because they can edit those. Keep it simple on the eye makeup. Less is better.




Outfit
As far as outfits go, don't stress. Most pictures only show like 5% of the whole outfit. Wear a color that compliments your eyes or skin. Don't wear anything too low, and wear something that you are comfortable in. But since at my school we wear a uniforms, this is the only day in the school year we can wear whatever we want (except for spirit wear). Because this is so special I wanted to give you guys some good ideas on stuff you could wear. Keep your outfit simple. Don't wear any big necklaces: that will take away from your face or mess with the camera. keep it to mostly solid colors. The less distractions to your beautiful face the better! :)
