About me

I am a 22 year old curly haired girl who grew up with a great life in the wide open prairie with a great family. I have 1 sister, 3 brothers, a sister-in-law and two nephews. I started this blog when I was in the 7th grade. I had just watched "frenemies" that sub-par Disney movie with Zendaya and Bella Thorne. They made a web sight called "Geekly Chic" all about fashion. At this time, fashion bloggers and Youtubers weren't very big yet. I decided I wanted yet another hobby, so I created my very own fashion website through a blog platform. This blog has transformed in names, looks, image quality, spelling level, and has aged with me. Though this blog used to be updated weekly, my life has changed and with it my interests and values. No longer do I spend $30 at Forever 21 to mimic the clothing hauls I watched Bethany Mota share on YouTube. Though I still care about clothing, I care more about the people who are making the clothes and what happens when we are done with the clothing.

My interests include, singing and playing piano something I started before I can remember. I've picked up knitting again in college that my mom taught me when I was probably 7. I really love traveling and will be studying abroad this fall in Ireland! I love reading captivating books, listening to people's stories and cooking something from scratch. I love Gilmore girls and the Office, I hate Nutella and I will forever be afraid of snakes.

Something else I really care about is my hair and sharing what I know with others. Growing up, there were not very many resources for me to understand how to take care of my crazy curls. I have learned so much over the years and hope to document that knowledge more on this blog. I am constantly trying new curly hair products and having conversations with my fellow curly girls. Hope it helps!

I don't expect many people at all to read this blog. It's been such a fun/embarrassing thing to have had since the 7th grade. I'm here to document my life, be intentional to sit down and craft what I want to communicate and create. If you read this blog, yay! I hope you get something from it. If you're really bored one day go back into my archives to see how atrocious those early 2013-2016 blog post are.

I couldn't end this "About Me" page without talking about my sweet Jesus. I've been a Christian since I was 6 years old. I remember my mom asking me if I wanted to accept Jesus into my heart. It sounded good to me, so I said yes. I ran around the house telling everyone and got to share it with my visiting grandparents. The next day was Sunday and I vividly remember going and talking to our pastor, Pastor George about it. Christ is my everything and my whole identity, or at least that's what I daily strive for. You will see him permeating throughout my life and seeping into this blog. I'm passionate about not being a nominal christian. About actually knowing the word of God and letting the Holy Spirit call the shots for my life. All the answers are in him.
