School starts next week for me! Wow I'm not ready! But I had to get my school supplies despite the fact that I don't want school to be here already! Now don't get me wrong, I actually kind of like school. I like being with my friends all day and being busy and all the fun activities that come with school! So, today I wanted to talk about school supplies and how I organize my things. Hopefully this will give you some ideas and tips to make your school year a little better this year.
First I wanted to show you all the supplies that I got for the 2014-2015 school year. I got them all at Target this year. To be honest I wasn't really that happy with the selection of the materials that they had. The stuff wasn't as cute as I thought it could have been. But hey that's ok I'll just have to do some little DIYs to make them a little cuter.
For paper, instead of loose leaf I like getting it bound. It keeps it together and tidy. This bundle has a ton of paper that I plan on using all of. It actually comes with some dividers and some pockets for things that might be lying around.
I got these cute labels for my folders. I'll show you how I use them later. But for now can we just take a minute and talk about how cute they are? Normally they just come in white but these have little polka dots around the rim which is really adorable.
Next I got my (and probably everyone else in the world's) favorite pencils. They are mechanical and have a great eraser and last for a really long time. If you haven't used these pencils before I would suggest getting them!
Next I got some gel pens. I love adding color to my homework. Not only do I color coordinate my agenda to keep it more organized but they are fun to doodle with. Normally you need a red pen but I had one left over from last year.
Next I got some index cards. These are a must. Most classes have a lot of vocab words that you need to memorize and these are a great way to quiz yourself. I like the ruled ones and these are colored which makes it more fun!
Next I got 6 folders. I got one folder for each class that is going to be giving me homework. This is how I like to organize my things. I normally do my notes in my paper notebook. Then on one side of the folder I do homework and the other side is handouts. This is how I like to organize my things but you might not like this way. Whatever works for you! Like I said before I was disappointed with Target's selection. As you can see these folders aren't that cute but they were the cutest ones that they had there.
Next I found these two adorable 3 ring binders. These are really cute and I'm really excited to use them! Keep reading and you'll find out how I plan on using these.
These little containers are for the bottom of my locker. I'll probably do a locker post of how I organize my locker and store my books and things. But later in the post I'll show you what I'm going to put in these.
I know that these don't have anything to do with school but I wanted to put these in here. I got these for after school for before cheer practice. I love the "kind" bars I think they taste really good and are really filling. If you are like me and have a sport after school I would recommend getting some of these for your locker.
ll How I Organize ll
Now I want to show you how I'm going to organize my school supplies. I do it a little different then most people but It works for me.
First with these labels I wrote out all of my classes. Can we please excuse my horrible handwriting? OK? Good, thank you!
So what I did is, I put each label on my folders. This way I know which folder goes with which class. Last year I had a different folder for each class but this year the selection was slim so I had to get the same pattern and I had to label them.
Next I took my two cute binders and put on them "first half of the day" and "second half of the day" this is because I'm going to be putting the first half of my day folders in the first binder and the second half of the days class folders will go in the second binder.
So like I said, I put the folders in the right folder. I picked out two patterns, one for the first folder and one for the second folder. I did two binders so I can switch them out half way through the day. This makes it easier for me so that not everything is so heavy.
So with my two containers I wanted to show you what I put inside. With the first container I put my bars in. With the other container I have more necessity things
This is everything that I have in the second container. I have a some erasers, a flash drive, and some led which goes in the red pouch thing. Next I have some bobby pins, a clip, some pony tail holders some headbands and some feminine necessities. Next, I have some wet wipes a stapler some tape and another head band. I would suggest getting a box like this for your locker.
So this is how I organize my Pens and pencils and stuff like that. So I like this pencil bag that I can see through. It really helps when you need to find a pen fast. The other pencil bag I put my note cards and my calculator in. I like having a bag for things so they aren't just loose in my bag.
This is my new agenda. Its the Lilly Pulitzer agenda. I love the pattern and it's so pretty! My school actually provides an agenda for us but I decided to buy this one for myself. I love pretty, bright things and I though I would use it more if I go this cute one.
As you can see it has plenty of room for all the things I need to write in. I plan on doing it color coordinated something like black for my life, red for test and blue for homework or something like that.
I really hope you enjoyed this post! I hope you got some good tips and tricks and I wish you good luck on your first day of school!
Wow very organize and net. I love how you prepare for your schooling.
