Who gave it to me:
Got at Jubilee conference bought by Jospeh worship leader at my church
Summary:
A book that looks at what it means to be white. It dives into the Biblical backing for starting to step into this conversation. It is a grace filled book with many stories of failures and experiences. This is by far the best book on race I have read.
Lesson learned:
We need to look at all the areas we are influenced. Mentors, friends, pastors, teachers, authors, what race are they? Mine are all white. It's important, especially in the church to start to ask the question of what we are missing by having such a narrow perspective that is teaching us.
Favorite quote:
"Daniel, you may be white, but don't let that lull you into thinking you have no culture. White culture is very real. In fact, when white culture comes in contact with other cultures, it almost always wins. So ti would be a really good idea for you to learn about your culture."
Recommendation: 100000/10
