Who Gave it To me:
Comrie Peppers my friend and Sophomore English teacher
Book Summary:
It's a biography about a college kid who is passionate about the aids crisis. She links up with Jars of Clay to provide 1000 wells to suffering African communities. They realized that clean drinking water is part of the solution for aids and that the christian community was more willing to donate to that cause than aids.
Lesson I learned:
My dreams can and should be pursued even in college. No matter what don't give up and see every opportunity even if the interactions seem small. Keep fighting.
Favorite quote:
"Those nights in Moses's living room invigorated my soul. No longer pretending to be something, Blood:Water had reached the beginning of real partnership, real relationship, real projects, and real funds. Joel was the conscience of the organization, ensuring that we wouldn't lose sight of the equalizing, humanizing approaches to the work. Moses was the practitioner, giving us the ability to put our shared ideas into action. And I was the engine, doing all that I could to keep this start-up dream moving forward."
