My Feet Hurt

On my Friday off I used my Killarney train ticket and headed out for the southern National Park. I boarded the train full of bright spirit only to be met with the notification my train ticket was supposed to be used the day I bought it (which was a month ago). Faced with a fine, I gritted my teeth and shoved adulting out of my mind and focused on the adventure ahead.

In order to actually get to the national park from the train station one would have to grab a bus, bike, or boogie (dead serious there were little carriages everywhere). As the young, athletic, poor student I am, I walked instead. I really set out with no goal, simply to spend the magically sunny day (thank you Jesus my prayer was answered the way I wanted it to be) in the park.

I was met with so much beauty ranging from holly and ferns to moss covered forests, to converging rivers to rolling mountains.

On the park is this estate which is just absolutely stunning and faces the mountain (hill?) and lake. There were many middle aged couples walking around the park on this casual Friday afternoon. I aspire to be them in my middle life.

I found where all those little gnomes are from that my family blames for stealing our things. I'm obsessed with moss. I'm always rewarded by following my curiosity and scrambling up mounds of earth off the path. I was in moss heaven.

Caught. The face of an embarrassed self timer adventurer. I vowed I would only capture what I am actually doing on these trips. No posing, no acting like I rumple about just for a photo, I really do rumple about guys. I'm a child ok.

Yes, I did take a break half way through (hello mile 8!) and have an Irish coffee cheese cake. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. I knit for awhile, read a book, and ease-dropped on American conversations.

All in all it was a beautiful day. I've got to stop putting these filters on my photos because it makes the skies look cloudy when in fact they are bright blue. Anyhoot, I ended the day clocking 17 miles! My record thus far. I rewarded myself with an Irish coffee, google it, it was nasty, so i left most of it on the table and ran off to catch my train headed home, well home for now.
