Day two. Today was a spirit wear day at school. Unfortunately I did not get a photo of my school outfit, but I wore a grey jersey t-shirt dress with black leggings and a school shirt on top that was tied on the side so it wasn't so long. And for shoes I wore my chucks.
Tonight was our first basketball game and the theme was white out. So, obviously, I wore my Easter Dress. I added some thick black tights and my new black booties from Target! Here is the only photo I got of that dress. These are all of the girls who continued the challenge at games and around town.

Why is modesty important with this challenge or important at all? There are several reason. The first main reason is the point is to respect your body and cover it for the woman who can't. Their femininity is being disrespected and if you wear a immodest dress that is drawing attention to your body then that defeats the purpose. Why would you want to look like a hooker while you are trying to set them free? That doesn't make any since. Now I know that everyone's definition of modesty is different and that can be frustrating. Something I might wear others might cringe at, but something I would never wear someone else might not get the big idea.
You have think about the reason behind what you do. Most of the time when I want to wear something that is on the edge it's because I think I look good in it and I want the attention. So not the right reason especially for this challenge. You have to remember not only are the cute soccer players giving you attention and looking at you, so are the creeps. Don't compare your modesty to a hooker compare it to a really conservative person. Don't think, well it's not as bad as this chick. Strive to think about what you wear and why.
Modesty, I believe, should be a bigger deal in the Christian community. Look at the Mormons and Muslims they take it so seriously and people know their faith by what they wear. Christians should look and act differently than the world. We should be one step behind the world. Isn't that what the entire New Testament is about? "Be in the world but not of it"? "Flee from the world"? I am not the example for modesty, though I strive I fall short. It is difficult to find knee length dresses. So maybe you have to look a like harder or pay a little more. But isn't it worth it?
Even if your parents don't enforce modest rules before you walk out the door, even if you friends all dress immodestly, stand up for something that is right. Respect your body. Don't think of it as covering your body because you are ashamed. You are covering it to show your dignity. It is classy to be modest. It is mysterious to be modest. Don't give all of yourself away once people see you.
