As you can see I have worn this dress a lot. I'm really loving the fit and length of this dress. It is very high quality and a cool pattern. The day I wore this was my grandmothers annual Christmas party. Because of that, I added some more bling to make it more fancy. I am wearing some hunter green Kate spade earrings I got as a gift and Jcrew necklace I also got for a gift. To add some more Christmas to the outfit, I am wearing some glittery tights.

Over the break I have been reading the book The Road to Lost Innocence by Somaly Mam. The book is about a woman who was sold in sex trafficking in Cambodia and eventually gets out and ends up helping girls escape and give them a life to live in a safe house. The book has broke my heart once again for victims of sex trafficking. It is very graphic but it's someones reality. It talks about in Cambodia some of the brothels have girls as young as 5 and 6 to insure they are virgins because that's what the men want. It's horrible to say the least.

The interesting thing I have realized after reading this book is why the girls really can't leave. For a long time I just thought if they snuck out and ran away they could find their families and all would be well, but that is not the reality for most of the girls. Unfortunately many families will sell the girls to pay off a debt. Even if the girls do leave, there is no life for them. They have nothing to turn to and they cannot support themselves.

I also had no idea how corrupt some of the governments are. The writer talks about talking to the police about doing a brothel raid. They would get there the next day and the brothel had been cleared out because the police had warned the pimps. Many of the police were investors in the brothels or clients themselves. In Cambodia whoever had money to bribe police got protection. Unfortunately, sex trafficking is such a huge way to make money they had the protection.

I would definitely recommend this book but not to anyone who is not able to handle harsh reality and graphic scenes about rape. It is a redemptive story that this woman can overcome her past and help so many others.
