Every year around this time, I show you guys some swimsuits I've found and I tell you where to get them and that's that. Well, this year I wanted to take a little different angle. If you didn't know, I am a Christian and I try to live my life how I think my Creator would want me to. I grew up in a pretty strict and conservative home as I was home schooled. This topic might just bug me because of that background but I really don't think so.

It was never an issue in elementary school. Everyone wore a one piece because well, that 's what you did. Never at my church had I met a girl who was aloud to wear a bikini in elementary school. Middle school came around and it pretty much stayed the same except maybe here and there I would know a girl or see one at the neighborhood pool. Now, I know I sound like I'm talking about something very deadly and horrible but I'm not. And just a little disclaimer before I get super into it. I'm not saying I think girls that wear bikinis are any less a Christian or anything. Because I don't think that at all. All I want is to just make you think.

Once I got to high school and a real school, I met a lot more girls who wore bikinis. It didn't bother me at all and since I go to a christian school I was never the only one not wearing a bikini. I think that if my parents had given me the choice last year if I could wear a bikini then I probably would have. But, it wasn't until this year when I really stepped back and thought about it. It was after I started following a few Mormons on Instagram. They have always been know to be very modest dressers and I liked seeing how they make their outfits modest yet still fashionable and cute. I would  see them in their adorable yet modest swim suits and It would kind of encourage me that I wasn't alone.

It's like when you see a senior doing the right thing and you feel encouraged that the older and wiser are doing the right thing and they are doing it not in obedience but because they decided they wanted to. Once I found these Mormons, I would look at where they got their swim suits and they were all these adorable stores for modest swim suits. Most of them were located in Utah (big Mormon population) and it just made me sad.

When I look on instagram and see a girl in a modest swim suit I automatically think she is Mormon not Christian. Shouldn't Christian girls dress modestly as well? Aren't we suppose to look differently then the world? When I see what the Christian girls wear I don't see any difference at all. God has called us a Christian woman to not make the men stumble and when you wear a tiny little string bikini then I think its going to be really hard for him.

I hate the excuse that they can't find any cute modest swim suits. That might have been true a few years ago but now stores are making a really big effort to have diversity in their suits. I think it's just that the girls don't want to look different or super conservative.

Not only do I see girls not looking different at the pool I see a lot of Christians not acting differently. Yea maybe they don't cuss as much as non Christians and they don't have sex but they come super close. They walk the line so closely and when they do cross it and you condemn them, or don't agree they call you judgmental cause they want you to agree with their mistakes.

I know you might think that I am being a little dramatic, but I think this is a big deal and it makes me sad to think that Mormons or Muslims take their faith more seriously then Christians do. I am in no way shape or form saying that I am perfect or I am doing what's right all the time. I make mistakes and I don't have this all figured out. I wouldn't preach at you if I didn't try to live it myself. Yes I do have a bikini but I wear it around my girl friends only.

The reason I am talking about this is not to call you a slut for wearing a bikini. You can wear whatever you want. I just want you to think before you buy your suits for this year. I want you to ask yourself these questions before picking up a suit.

"Does this represent Christians when I wear it in public?"

" Is this sending the right message?"

"Is this going to make boys stumble?"

"Would I wear this in front of my Grandpa?"

OK to help you with this, I am going to show you some super cute modest swimsuits so you can't have the excuse that you can't find any or that they aren't cute. And, if you have a super cute bikini that you want to wear then wear it around your girlfriends! Also you can follow my pinterest board on suits and I post super cute ones all the time.

It's as simple as getting bigger bottoms and maybe a higher top. You also have to think about your body type. If you are bustier then you can't wear what the flat girls can wear. If you have a bigger behind then you can't wear some tiny little bottoms like the sticks can.

Their prices are more on the expensive side but they range from 128$-38$

                Beverly Swimwear
Beverly Swimwear has a great mission for modest swim suits, here is a snip bit from their about page, "Growing up in San Diego I've spent a large part of my life in swimsuits. I knew I could help solve this problem not only for myself, but also for the many others that are searching for cute modest swimwear."

Their prices range between $30-$80

Mod Cloth is a very vintage store so they have tons of high waisted suits that are quirky but still cute. 5. Great post! I am Mormon myself and have often wondered why Christians don't seem to get the whole modesty thing often times. Being raised Mormon we believe and are taught from the Bible as well, and our whole religion is founded upon the teachings of Christ and his example. We too are Christians, but with a different name. I love that you are encouraging other Christians to consider how being more modest shows respect not only to everyone who is around them, but to their Savior.
I too don't judge girls who choose to wear bikini's. It is a cultural norm and certainly they are way easier to find. However it really shouldn't be rocket science when you evaluate what the difference is between a girl walking around in front of the world in her bra and underwear compared to a little bikini. Their just isn't much difference at all and yet I am pretty sure most Christians wouldn't feel like they should show up somewhere in there bra and underwear right? Good for you for standing up for righteousness and setting a great examples for us all! Also great swimsuit recommendations! I am a young mom now and I hope that my two little girls will one day be able to be an example of being stylish and modest someday like you.
