Thanksgiving Outfits

{  Wow guys, long time, no post! I know I say this all the time but I really have been so busy with school, the fast approaching holidays, and finals. (Not looking forward to finals but I do love Christmas, so that keeps me going). Yesterday was Thanksgiving (which is one of my favorite holidays!). For the long break, my dear sister came home -which is always so fun to see her because she lives on the east coast for school so I don't see her a ton. And to add a cherry on top, she brought some of her friends home for the holiday! It's been such a fun weekend so far, and I can't wait for more memories we are going to make in the next few days! This morning we hit the shops early for some black Friday shopping, and later- after I had a nap and got over the shock of how much I spent- I'll do a photo shoot of what I got and post it on here for you all. :)  }

So, back to Thanksgiving. It's a big deal at my family's house, because we are very thankful for all that God has done for us over the years. My Grandpa and Grandma come over and we have tons of food, then later more family comes over and we eat desserts, sit in the living room and chat, and laugh the night away. It's so great and I'm so blessed to have such a great family and that we are so close and all mostly live in the same city. I couldn't imagine not being close with my cousins, aunt and uncle, and grandparents but I guess that is very common.

Yesterday since Thanksgiving is a big deal, we all decided to dress up, well at least I did: my brothers wore shorts! Which is weird for two reasons. The first is that it's Thanksgiving, a holiday, so they should dress up! Secondly is that it snowed last week, but in their favor, it has warmed up considerably, and we didn't go anywhere, so there was really no reason to get all dressed up. The real reason I got all dressed up is because I just got this new dress, and I really wanted to wear it before my sister takes it back to college. My mom only agreed to buy it for me if my sister and I share it and since she lives across the country, she needs it for a Christmas dance so she has to take it back on Monday. Anyway, I am super excited about this dress cause I don't have a lot of nice dresses and this one is just so dang cute!

Since we looked cute, we took some pictures of our outfits. I took pictures of my outfit, my sister Nevi's outfit, and her friend Joy's outfit. Now don't get me wrong, the other friends looked really nice as well, but we had some miscommunication, they thought that I thought their outfits were not worthy of my blog (which is so not true!) so they were "offended " (hardly......well at least I hope) so they were stubborn, and wouldn't let me take pictures of their outfits. Ok here they are, the thanksgiving outfits! :)

First we have Joy's outfit. She is very petite, and I think that she has mastered her style; Her outfits are always on point. For Thanksgiving, she went with a darker palette. Leggings seem to be her thing. Since she has been here ( which is like 3 days) she has probably warn like 8 different pairs of leggings. Ok, that might be a bit of a stretch.. But regardless, she is the girl to go to if you need a pair of leggings. I think she wears these because they are very easy to tuck under because most pants are to long for her legs.

 Next her top is a super cute black peter pan peplum top. (Try saying that tongue twister out loud!). It's a very flattering top on her body type, and it goes perfectly with the leggings. These shoes were the talk of the night. In fact, I think they were compared to shoes that were dipped in chocolate. Regardless of the nickname, they were a big hit, and I'm obsessed with them along with all of her wardrobe to be honest. Her nails are a dark, maroon and she is wearing some rose gold accessories.

Here is my beautiful sister Nevi. Last year she hopped on the "all black" band wagon that Joy and I hopped on. This year she added a bit more color with her winter white sweater and her turquoise earrings. She is wearing her classic black jeans- these are the Nevi staple jeans this is all she wears and she loves them. She is also wearing her peter pan shoes from Target. Well, at least that's what someone at school called them, she got very offensive so to tell her that in person. I'm in with love this cable knit winter sweater she is wearing, it's so soft and warm.

 She curled her and hair and went with natural makeup with more of a pop on the lips. Yes I know her hair is angelic and way longer than mine! She loves rubbing it in my face when she comes home, but it's fine! And like I said she is wearing some turquoise earrings. She loves any accessories that are turquoise, and the tree necklace she is wearing is actually our family necklace for the girls. I'm sure my mother has some story of why it's a tree but I don't know it.

And this is my outfit and my new baby, well my new dress that is. I am in love with this outfit, and I'm glad Nevi got me on the all black band wagon, it really is super classy. I am wearing my new shift pleated dress with lace details on the top; it's so elegant and I realized that I can eat as much as I want during Thanksgiving because of the shape, and you would never know! These rose detailed tights my dad actually got for me in Spain, London, Australia or Japan, I can't remember which, but my mom went through all of those last night so I figured one of those would be correct so just threw them all in!

These shoes I actually borrowed from Joy. Best closet award, right?! They were perfect for the dress, and I'm so glad she had them cause I don't have any shoes that would go with this dress. And for accessories, I am wearing a tiny hint of color with my light pink flower bracelet. I'm sorry Nevi, I couldn't do it! I couldn't fully convert to the dark side! -And also not pictured, I wore some pearl earrings, don't worry they aren't real they are probably from Forever 21.
