What is beauty? As you can see above it is being attractive, giving pleasure to the senses or mind. That's what the Webster online dictionary says. But what does man say is beautiful? Most of us would agree that if you saw a women walking down the street that was skinny, had good hair and good facial features we would call her beautiful. What do you call beautiful? Well, this is different for every person to answer but the real question is do you think you are beautiful? The most important question is what does God think is beautiful? Does he care if you are skinny, tall, have good cheek bones and non-frizzy hair. If we look in the bible it is very clear from Proverbs 31 that a beautiful women has a quite, kind heart. She is not focused on herself but only on others.
The 1 direction song "That's what makes you Beautiful" has a very interesting point. In the song they say this girl is so beautiful...because she doesn't know she is beautiful. At first it doesn't really make sinsee but if you think about it, if you see a girl who is overly vain do you think that is attractive? But, people say that the most attractive women are the confident women. So, are you confident in your weight, your hair, or your height? Most of us could say we have one flaw that we always think about. I think its just in our nature. I know that on this blog i talk a lot about outward appearance. What to wear, how to do your makeup and ways you should do your hair. But I really hope that you also get from my blog that inward beauty is way more important then outward. Think about this, would people want to be friends with you if they were blind. By this I mean, do you have such a good heart that if the people you hang out with couldn't see you they would know you were beautiful outwardly because you were so beautiful inwardly?
Today at school we had our small groups. And one of my leaders showed us this video. After it saw it I knew I had to show you guys. It is so powerful. I hope after reading this and watching the video you think more about your self image.
